are down 10 degrees in los gatos. look at san francisco, 8 degrees cooler. napa is down 7. just a good sign that probably we are going to sleep better. the fog is dense in spots like half moon bay where visibility is down a quarter of a mile. cooling continues and temperatures will run below average on sunday. we will not get out of the upper 70s. you notice the fog was back and the onshore flow was strengthening. that breeze coming off the ocean is what brought our temperatures down today. we are expecting the fog to not advance very far. it was very shallow, about a thousand feet. we will keep it confined to the coastline. but with the stronger sea breeze setting in earlier in the day, the temperatures will fall further, only 90s inland. and the 60s right near the coast. with occasional high clouds once again tomorrow just like we saw today. better sleeping night tomorrow, better air quality as we start to notice the breeze coming back. low to mid60s in the inland east bay. the peninsula and south bay and 50s for most of the rest of the bay area with the coolest readings around napa and s

with 40s and 50s. 48 santa rosa and napa. 55 livermore and concord. 56 san francisco. if it wasn't for the wind it would be a lot cooler than this. 40s in the mountains. 50s up and down the coast until you hit southern california. you can see our little system. that's why i like to show the satellite. see the spin in the atmosphere. that's a little low came by right to the north. give us clouds late in the afternoon. one more little system has to clip us from the north. that will prevent the high from building in. it's a noticeably cooler pattern. however high pressure on its way and it's going to be warmer. especially towards friday and saturday and maybe even sunday and monday. 60s and 70s today. that will do it. windy, blustery at times. wind protected areas maybe not too bad. breezy today. cold tomorrow morning. no doubt about it. fall starts tonight, takes us into thursday and wouldn't you know we have warmer weather with 90s to the interior by the weekend. >>> wow. all right. major defeat for those fighting the pentagon's don't ask, don't tell policy. what happens now and h

napa. san jose the warmest. livermore concord at 63. 81 palm springs under mostly cloudy skies. same for low clouds coming up 50, 60s, 70s from sacramento. the key is that the high is moving and we're getting more of the on shore push and that means the fog is lifting each day and will continue to do so. areas of low fog out there. higher clouds mainly toward the south bay but cooler for all today. 50s to 90s. morgan hill 89 and cooler up towards napa, santa rosa, upper 80s and low 90s. the fog really starts to come back in. five-day forecast has fog conditions. definite cool down. significant one as we head towards the weekend. >>> time now 5:11. california officially canceled tonight's execution at san quentin. convicted killer albert greenwood brown was scheduled to die at 9:00 p.m. tonight. but yesterday the state decided that a flurry of court challenges made it impossible to carry out his death sentence before tomorrow. that's when california legally runs out of its supply of lethal drugs. the decision gives brown and other condemned inmates a reprieve until at least next year.

where that station is 73 through oakland. you've got about 79d in napa. look at fairfield. 86 in livermore, 80 in san jose. so right now the numbers are a good two to six degrees warmer than they were yesterday with the exception of livermore. a little breeze coming through there so temperatures a little cooler than this time yesterday. but notice the direction of the wind, out of the northwest. that's getting all that fog and pushing it down south to monterrey bay, and the wind is about 10 to 15 miles per hour. this is the satellite set-up and we've got that ridge of high pressure. a little bit stronger tomorrow. rather than northwest we get northeast winds, and that will give us a little bit more warming tomorrow. all that cold air i'm talking about is right there. it will move in fast. before you know it, we'll drop from the 70s to 80s on labor day to the 60s and 70s. palm springs tomorrow, some temperatures close to 100 degrees in the central and joaquin valleys. up to reno, 78. the forecast for tomorrow, 75 in san francisco. you get into some of the sunnier parts of the c

in napa, still 90s or close to them, fairfield, concord, livermore, right over to pleasa pleasanton and into livermore. 78 in san jose. tomorrow we allow 2 to 5 degrees from where we were today. the wind is out of the northwest. tomorrow it comes out of the northeast. that dry, warm wind picks up the heat over the central valley and blows a lot of fog out of the area and we're done. this is the is the light setup as we move forward. today the winds out of the northwest gave us a lot of sunshine. tomorrow, mid-70s at the beaches, mid-80s bayside, and mid-90s across the inland spots. watch what happens, though. labor day is fantastic, but people will be talking about this cooldown on wednesday and thursday. some cold airdr drops in from t north. temperatures drop 20 degrees in some kcases. by wednesday we drop to the 70s, the low to mid-70s. the fog will be very thick as well during the overnight hours into the morning hours. the forecast for tomorrow, sunrise at 6:44. just like today, a lot see that sun come up. just patchy fog along the coast from san mateo county through monterey.

that, the rest of us cool down. 54 in san francisco. still sitting at 71. lots of 60s through napa and in to san jose. this is the fog. notice i'll take you to 1:00 a.m. plenty of it is banked along the coast. it's not moving anywhere. thicker as we go through 8:00 a.m. really hugging the coastline. and then once we go into noon, we still have it along the coast. it's not really clearing out. everywhere else it will clear out by 4:00 p.m. temperatures drop from the 70s back into the 6 o's. we have this ridge of high pressure right about here. the flow that is coming out of the north is clearing the skies as we go into the bay side communities and inland spots. so a little warmer. yeah. cooling and foggy along the coast tomorrow. everywhere else is 70s and 80s. this cold air, get ready for this. this is sinking into the area. this will happen as we go through tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, and saturday. not going to move much. this is not going to move a whole lot. so with it in place, that sea breeze is going to get stronger every night. that fog ban gets thicker. so keerl.
